Charles Nyakundi was born 12 Dec 1974 in Nyamira district, Nyanza province. His interest in running came from having to run to school each day. When he entered high school he was inspired by great athletes such as Oanda and Josphat Machuka. The support he received from his brother, Anthony and his former high school teacher, Mr. Hoff helped him to continue his dream of racing. Charles' goal is to run a fast, flat course such as the Chicago Marathon to improve his time.
