Jared was born in Kilii Kenya on Dec 5th 1976. He began running at an early age, 10 years old. At the age of 26, he started running professionally. In 2002, he won the Kenya Olympic pre-time trial in the 12K. At the Kenya Olympic time trials, he earned 8th place which was high enough to allow him to travel abroad and compete with the very best in the world. He has run an unbelievable 1:01 for the ½ marathon in 2004 at Saint Paul’s ½ Marathon. His personal record for the marathon is 2:14 which he ran in 2004 at the Lena Marathon in Kenya. His recent 2005 marathons include: 1) Barbado which he won and 2) the Green Bay Marathon which he earned 2nd place overall. He also competed in the Army’s Ten Miler Race on 8 Oct 2006 which he won in a time of 48:24. His short-term goal in running is to run a sub 2:10 at Boston 2007.
